This first concert in the new Classical & Jazz Series sponsored by the Chesapeake Orchestra begins with our Fellows in Residence at Woodlawn, and adds the special presence of SNL Band lifer Lawrence Feldman on saxophone.
The Wine Cottage opens its doors for the concert at 6.00 with a welcoming aperitif of sparkling wine from the Slack Shoals series (sparkling grape juice for those under the age of 21). At 7.00 the Saturday Night Live Sax-man joins the Chesapeake Orchestra Fellows in music of Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and more, in an intimate and nostalgic journey to New York.
Wine and a selection of cheeses and picnic items are available for purchase before, after and during concert intermission. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic. Please note that outside alcohol at Woodlawn is prohibited by Maryland State Law.
Weather permitting, we plan a beautiful sunset. For sure, lots of local fireworks will be on display as the concert concludes.
