ABOUT ABOUT

Dear Friends,

It was a visit from my dear friend Lynn, here for her son's wedding this past weekend, that reminded me we sometimes belie our name a bit.  Slack is not always, well, so slack afterall.

I met her at Garaj Mahal and Lynn ---- a charter Slack Wine Club Member now living in Rhode Island ---- said right away, "I love this place. Do you love this place? I wish I could be here more often."

Well, Lynn is down several times a year, so I thought time to give her a reason to plan her visits ahead.  All I need to do is get out the calendar for 2015, the planning book, the work plan for this winter, talk to the winemaker and the brewmaster and the new garden folks and we should be able to give Lynn --- and all Slack Winers ---- an idea of what's fermenting, brewing, growing and cooking for 2015 so it's on the cal well in advance.

So there in a nutshell is the plan --- a Plan to tell you about the 2015 Plans with Slack Winery, Slack Brewery and the Swell Honey Farm gardeners.   Join us all for hot mulled wine Slack style and pumpkin pie Mennonite style and talk with Tuck (winemaker), Brian (brewmaster), Brandon (Swell Honey Farm who are planning part of their garden --- and small animal --- sales at Jubilee) and you have an idea that it might be a fun afternoon. Yes, of course, brew samples will complement the pie, too.

Bring a picnic and the kids and dogs and if you want to fish in the pond, it just may be your last chance for 2014.

I've invited our Slack Wine Club Members for the afternoon, so if someone lost the email or my (very primitive) system failed to reach everyone, pass it forward.

Let us know you are coming for the pie slices ---- don't want anyone to get too thin a sliver leading in to holidays when our bellies need to be well-prepared for the onslaught.

All best,

PS I will send directions in advance just in case. Google maps may have been able to find Osama bin Laden's compound, but the farms on Black Creek it cannot resolve.
