ABOUT ABOUT

Waterside at Woodlawn is always about musicians and sometimes about other artists as well. Today is one of those other sometimes.

The musicians include Richard and The Falcons, est. 2012 featuring Richard Wagner and Catfish Joe on guitars and Rosemarie on percussion.  All contribute to vocals. They offer an eclectic mix of Alternative and Classic Rock, Blues, Country, and Original music.

The artist is Carolyn Egeli, a native of Valley Lee, the extraordinarily talented youngest child of portrait and maritime painter Bjorn Egeli.  Like her father she is adept at portraiture, but her recent works are a departure from her farmily's and her own earlier paintings.  Come see 4 new paintings at Woodlawn and talk with the artist herself. These paintings can be purchased with proceeds in part supporting the Chesapeake Orchestra (Carolyn is one of its most loyal trustees).

We also have Alex Austin back with his barrel-soaked cigars: cherry, bourbon, whiskey and a few more. These cigars are special, and he'll tell you about the art of his craft in making specialty cigars.

The Wine Cottage at Woodlawn is open from 12-6 pm and does tastings of Slack Wines and also offers a full range of bar services.

Great place to bring kids and the whole family.  Hang out by the water with a breeze, cool music, and the über-cool crowd. Slack Winery has fourteen great wines to choose from, mostly from estate grown grapes

Bring a picnic or stop by at St. Inigoes General Store on the way down and pick up one of the best sandwiches (OMG the Ruben!) you'll ever taste in your life.

If you are looking for a lunch or dinner spot en route, we're blessed with great restaurants near by: Spinnakers and Courtneys, or pick up great Chinese food at the Ridge Market.
